Maasai Mara: for big cats and the Migration
- Best for: lions, leopards, cheetahs, and the Great Migration from July to October.
- Getting there: 5–6 hours by road from Nairobi, or a 45-minute flight.
- Entry (Kenyan citizen adult): KSh 1,500 per day January to June, KSh 3,000 from July.
- Choose it if: it’s your first safari, or you want the classic, wall-to-wall wildlife experience.
Amboseli: for elephants and Kilimanjaro
- Best for: big elephant families and that postcard view of Kilimanjaro at sunrise.
- Getting there: about 4 hours by road.
- Entry (East African citizen adult): KSh 1,500 per day.
- Choose it if: you love photography, or want an easy two-night safari with something special.
Ol Pejeta: for rhino and a cool highland escape
- Best for: black and white rhino, chimpanzees at the Sweetwaters sanctuary, and Mount Kenya views.
- Getting there: 3–4 hours by road to Nanyuki.
- Entry: a private conservancy fee, quoted with your trip.
- Choose it if: you want a long weekend with conservation at its heart, and cooler weather.
